Athletes around the world play for many reasons. Starting Seattle Seahawk offensive tackle Justin Britt plays for those he loves. As a motivating factor to succeed, Britt explains in a recent interview…

“my main goal with the platform I’ve been given is to provide for my family and have my daughter be able to provide for her daughter.”

Growing up, the concept of being a provider was instilled in him by family, friends and high school coaches in his hometown of Lebanon, MO. Being the first one from Lebanon to make it to the NFL, he believes it would be wrong not to give back to the community.

On June 27th, 2015 Britt plans to set up the first football camp in Lebanon.

Justin Britt Football Camp Coming Soon

Want to share the field with a Seattle Seahawk? Justin Britt will be back in his hometown of Lebanon, Missouri to coach a football camp this summer. With the help of former Mizzou football players, such as James Franklin, Britt’s football camp will give young athletes the chance to train and play with a pro.

How To Develop Mental Toughness

I recently had a chance to hang out with my old high school wrestling team. Being with them reminded me of how much the sport influenced who I am and how I play today. With wrestling, I didn’t have anyone on the mat to help me beat my opponent. I was the only one responsible for my success or failure.

As a young man, having that kind of accountability taught me a lot about character, discipline and perseverance.

My mental toughness grew with every year as a Lebanon High School wrestler, and my sophomore and junior year I worked my way to being the district heavyweight champion. The culmination of my high school wrestling career was in 2009, my senior year, when I had a 45-0 season and won the Class 4 Missouri state heavyweight championship. I had built up a tough mentality to get me to that moment, and

I continued to rely on that mental toughness throughout football at Mizzou and now as an NFL player. I attribute much of my mental toughness to being a wrestler and competing on the mat.
